How do i clear up scalp folliculitis?

Medicated shampoo: Typically I have patients try an over the counter medicated shampoo such as head and shoulders or Nizoral (ketoconazole) to start, but if that is not effective, i give them a prescription shampoo and sometimes a topical antibiotic to control this pesky condtion. There not a cure for folliculitis, but rather patients can control it with proper meds.
