Splinter hemorrhage?: A splinter hemorrhage is an area of old blood under the nail from an injury to the nail or from an infection of the heart called endocarditis. You mention having had a punch biopsy previously, so it may have been related to that, but it would be wise to review this with your doctor so a possible infection is not missed.
