A lot of things: First, it would help to know where the blood is coming from. Do you have bleeding gums? Do you have nose bleeds? Do you have any symptoms of a stomach ulcer or reflux? If you're having bleeding gums or nose bleeds in your sleep, you could have a condition causing your blood to not clot properly. There are numerous causes of this and you should see your doctor and have this investigated further.

Many: It could be bleeding from your gum (infection, inflammation), teeth, nose bleed (nose and mouth are connected). If it occur in more than one occasion, you should see doctor to exclude benign bleeding disorders such as low platelets.
