Yes: But it takes quite a long time unless you have diabetes and are an adult in children less than 2 it might only take 12 hrs and in newborns 6 hrs.

Not exactly: Glucose is stored as glycogen in the liver (mostly) and some other places. Fasting promotes release of glucose from storage. In prolonged fasts, muscle is broken down to provide Amino Acids which get converted to glucose. However, fatty acids are converted into ketones which also provide energy, primarily for brain and heart, during prolonged fasts.
