What does a nurse do when a g-tube is clogged?

Irrigate; move: A gastric tube can be clogged by the high-sugar viscous nutrition or medications sent through them. When clogged, a nurse will irrigate them to dissolve or dislodge the blockage, or reposition the tube to get it flowing again. Rarely it needs replacement.
