A member asked:

What are diseases caused by excess of lipids?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Heart & Pancreatitis: Increased lipids(cholesterol) , & what we call atherogenic lipoproteins (which contain cholesterol & triglycerides) in excess can deposit in the artery wall & lead to the development of the atherosclerotic plaque that when it becomes unstable, ruptures leading to a heart attack or stroke. In addition, very high levels of triglycerides ( >500 mg/dl) but usually >1500-2000 can cause pancreatitis.
