New place: Always best to adjust to the time schedule of your new place, preferably 2-3 days earlier. It will not take 12 days. And it depends the age.

More or less: General rule is one day for every hour or two of difference. If you are planning this, you can help yourself by trying to adjust before you make the change and other steps to help you cope once you make the change.
