A member asked:

How is eclampsia different from epilepsy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pregnancy induced: Eclampsia is a toxic state during pregnancy that causes severe reactions in the body including high blood pressure, protein in the urine, brisk reflexes, and seizures. Once the pregnant state resolves, the toxic state resolves. Rare cases may go on to develop chronic epilepsy.
