Classification of : the epilepsies is evolving with the advent of new technologies. Recent domain-specific classification by the International League Against Epilepsy, found on http://www.uptodate.com/contents/ilae-classification-of-seizures-and-epilepsy, includes mode of onset -generalized, partial or focal & unknown, underlying cause - genetic, structural or metabolic & unknown & level of diagnostic specificity.
