How does modafinil work?

Modafinil: Modafinil (provigil) is an analeptic drug approved for treatment of narcolepsy & excessive daytime sleepiness associated with sleep apnea. It works by increasing the release of norepinephrine & Dopamine from brain synapses, & also increases release of histamine from the ypothalamus. Hence it promotes wakefullness.
