PPD: A PPD test is slightly uncomfortable for a few seconds. A very small needle goes right under the skin to administer a very tiny amount of fluid. There may be a little redness there for a few hours, but that usually goes away when you aren't positive. If someone tests positive, that area gets puffy within 48-72 hours of administration. It shouldn't really hurt.
