What precautions do docs take to limit the dose of radiation to which patients are exposed to?

Every precaution: Prolonged exposure to radiation has serious effects on human body due to constant damage to dna, and body's inability to repair. This will not happen to staff , are well protected not to get exposed , may only happen if there is break down of protocols , and wear lead lined protective gear.
