Gas??: Growling of the stomach is historically attributed to hunger. However "growling" sound is made by the intestines in response to gas (gas producing foods are the culprits), or food poisoning causing increased peristaltic movements. Gastroenteritis (caused by virus, bacteria or parasites) is another reason to look for. Allergic reaction to certain foods will make intestines make funny noises.
