No: Myopia means that light comes to a focus in front of the retina. Astigmatism means light in comes to multiple focal points rather than one. It is possible to have either condition in isolation or both together.

Different causes: Myopia occurs because the cornea and lens of the eye focus an image in front of the retina rather than directly on the retina. So, if the eye is too long or if the curvature of the eye is too steep, myopia can result. Astigmatism is a problem where the curvature of the eye is steeper in one direction than another, or it is irregular in curvature, so there are more than one points of focus.
