A member asked:

I'm almost 19 years old and my secondary molar has still not come in, is there a reason for me to be worried?

Depends on which one: The last secondary molars, the wisdom teeth, come in during late adolescence. Check with your dentist to be sure they are not stuck.

Have an xray taken: Generally by age 12-14 your second molars must have erupted. Either they are impacted (unable to erupt due to their position) or are congenitally missing (never formed) both are very rare. A panoramic radiograph will provide a full jaw view for better diagnosis.
