How common is it for a person to live to be 100 years old?

Not common: The average life expectancy in developed countries like usa is approximately 76-78 years old for females and about 72 ( 6 years less) for males. In my practice the maximum I have had above100 y/o was three patients. I do not have the data but i believe it is still rare to reach that age. More and more we have patients in the 80's and 90's.
