Symptoms ???: Genetic counseling and testing is advised if there is a strong family history of the disorder. Call for an appointment with your health care provider if there is persistent weakness or decreased sensation in the feet or legs. http://www.cmtausa.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=74.

ASAP: As CMT is an inherited condition, the sooner you are tested the better. Since the syndrome has so many variable manifestations, and early intervention helps ensure appropriate medical treatment, it is wise to have genetic testing and counseling as soon as possible.
