A member asked:

Can you die if you eat wheat and have a gluten allergy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Allergy vs sensitive: Ingestion of wheat in a person with true ige wheat allergy could be fatal as with any food allergy. However in a person with gluten (non ige) sensitivity it is very unlikely to cause death, but can cause acute and/or chronic illness.
