Possibly!!: Children should not be playing with toys that have lead paint. Doing so can lead to elevated lead levels in the bloodstream and depending on the amount of lead that a child is exposed to can cause developmental delays, and possibly acute toxicity. If your child has been playing with lead toys, they should see their pediatrician to have a blood lead level test done.

Define playing: If they were just pushing toys around there wouldn't be a problem. However part of "playing" with toys for many kids involves mouthing & chewing on the toy, which allows the toxic lead to enter babies digestive system, travel to the brain & cause toxic effects. The lead binds to nerve cells & causes damage , interferes with blood formation, deposits in bone, none of which helps kids grow.
