Yes and No: The groups themselves can be helpful, but only so much as the person participates in the group. They will not work passively. The been there done that factor is helpful to many people. They don't feel so alone.

Please see you family doctor or psychologist. Many times there may be a chemical imbalance or need for anti depresant medication. As well as the above.
