One of the most dangerous myths about suicide: if you talk about suicide, a person is more likely to attempt suicide. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact quite the opposite is true: talking about suicide is the single best method of prevention. Patients are relieved of a great emotional burden when the discuss their suicidal feelings. A simple conversation can save a life!
