A member asked:

I have been in a tempory cast for 1 week for a extensor digitorum injury it is no better will they put me in a regular cast?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Too early to tell: If it is properly fitted for you/your case, the temporary cast should work well. Casting basically works to immobilize the area and protect it from further injury. Healing is from your body and not the cast. Tendon injury may take many wks to heal and so 1 wk is too early to tell. Close follow-up with the doc is recommended for reassessment/care. Good luck.
