LigamentsDon't Throb: Inferior extensor retinaculum is an anatomic label for ligaments, clear in anatomic illustrations, not so much in reality. By definition ligaments attach bones to bones. Throbbing would likely be associated with either pulse (esp. if in sync.) or muscle contractions. All muscle (& associated tendon) movements are controlled by brain, via spinal cord motor neurons. Use this info to sort out clues.
