Safe dosage of percocet following tonsillectomy of 55 yr old woman?

As prescribed: The surgeon that performed the procedure must have prescribed the dosage on your bottle and the pharmacy would only fill it out with specific instructions on how to use the medication. Assuming an adult in a good state of health the typical dosage of the 5mg/325mg tablets is 1-2 tablets every 6 hours.

Most doses are safe: Percocet comes in the following doses; 2.5/325, 5/325, 7.5/325, 7.5/500,   10/325, 10/650. The 1st # is the milligrams (mg) of oxycodone, the 2nd # is the mg of acetaminophen. The dose depends on her level of pain but an acceptable start is, 5/325 every 4 hours as needed for pain. The dose can be adjusted based on effectiveness of the dose and her pain tolerance.
