Intubation?: sometimes for tonsillectomy they will put a breathing tube between the vocal cords to protect the airway and to breathe during the procedure. Sometimes this will cause irritation of the upper airway. As long as your child is not having any shortness of breath it should be ok; if he is then you should call the surgeon. Keeping your child hydrated and keep his room cool and humidified
