Overall fitness: You may want to concentrate on your overall level of fitness, with a program that includes a gradually increasing aerobic exercise. Running, cycling, and swimming are great options. Begin with a regimen of at least a half hour every other day, and gradually increase the intensity of the activity and the length of each session. On the off days, weight training - it helps to join a gym/get a coach.

In-home DVDs: A suggestion would be to first speak to your family physician, internist or care provider for a pre-workout screening. Then, consider an in-home fitness program (there are several on dvds) that systematically improve your overall endurance, aerobic (cardiovascular) capacity, and strength (including core strength).
