Many tings: Problems like these can only be correctly handled by your doctor in person. He/she needs to listen to you, perform an examination and possibly run labs or other tests. That's the only way he/she can find out what's going on and what to do about it.

Many things: He could have a frozen shoulder, a rotator cuff tear, bursitis or even a neck issue. Have him see a shoulder specialist, often a good physical exam can give him a diagnosis and then a treatment plan.

Shoulder/arm pain after playing badminton. Is this normal?

No, it cannot be ---: normal. Could be reasonable if you played after a long time, and not having done any warm up exercises. Suggest: do regular stretching exercises for your shoulder muscles, about 3 times a day & take some Advil or aleve (naproxen). A hot pack alternating with an Ice pack for 15 minutes each, about twice a day, would be helpful. If no improvement after 7-10 days, then see your PCP/Orthopod. Good Luck.

See doctor : Likely to simply have sprained it but hard without examination to tell exactly what is happening. Unfortunately it is Monday by the time am getting this but a prompt examination today to reassure that nil else serious going on +/- arrange X-rays if there is would be recommended
