Narcotic withdrawal : Yes. When your receptors are used to being flooded with powerful narcotics abrupt withdrawal can cause anything from sweating, heart racing to seizures and death.

Difficult to answer: Depending on how long, what dose and what drug, withdrawal symptoms can occur. A slow tapering (gradual reduction in tablets per day) can reduce the severity of withdrawal. There are also some drugs that can reduce withdrawal symptoms . Check with your physician.
