The answer: Really depends on what type of arthritis you are talking about. Rheumatoid arthritis responds very well to anti-tnf treatment. Because of these medications, the incidence of joint replacement and loss of function among RA patients has dropped dramatically. The more common type of arthritis, osteoarthritis does not respond to anti-tnf therapy.
