A member asked:

What are the most effective treatments for arthritis? is prp effective for arthritis? mother has tried volataren and certain meds. dont seem to work anymore for her. was curious what options are usually tried out? thanks?

Arthritis has a component of both pain and inflammation that causes pain. Voltaren gel applied 3 times a day and acetominophen 3 x per day is reasonable and standard treatment. PRP is being used now and is most effective on knee osteoarhtritis. Regular exercise and strengthening can be of benefit too. As the arthritis progresses, for the hips, knees, ankles and shoulders then replacement is done.
