Premi lungs: The final finish out for baby formation involves a material that keeps the air sacs open when you exhale.Roughly half the kids born at 36wks will need oxygen & possibly a ventilator if born at or before 36wks.Since they need breathing assistance they can't eat & need IV fluids etc. Some can do remarkably well, others get into real difficulty.

Not very dangerous: At 8 months or 35to36 weeks gestation most babies will not have breathing problems or ventilator care.At the most if the baby is small weight may need to be kept in an incubator rarely will be a need for intubation and ventilater.
