See your doctor: It is not a matter for self diagnosis and may not require colonoscoply. Your doctor can diagnose piles without need for colonoscopy. If you have blood in stool and no piles, colon cancer needs to be excluded. Discuss the alternatives with your doctor.

A good exam: Willexam will usually do the trick. A thorough physical examination with an anoscopy can diagnose piles or hemorrhoids. If the exam does not detect anything you need a colonoscopy.
