Iv antibiotics: Both IV antibiotics. Severe sepsis typically means the sepsis has effected other organs because of hypotension. These patients should be monitored in the ICU and aggressively resuscitated. Mild sepsis may be treated with IV antibiotics alone.

Get it treated!: If an infective agent travels to the blood stream and spreads, it could cause sepsis. With sepsis the body is greatly challenged to fight the infection. In severe cases the patient may go into multi-organ failure, shock, or even death. You may need oral or intravenous antibiotics, and in more sever cases one may need oxygen, IV fluid and pain medication.
