Usually 4-7 days: Genoptic is an inexpensive, comfortable and generally very effective antibiotic for the eye. If the infection does not clear in 4-7 days, then something else is going on or there is resistance to gentamicin. Go back to your ophthalmolgist if this happens for further diagnosis and treatment.
