Hormones: Hormonal affects on the body are well known and involve the entire body. The transition to post menopausal state especially. To avoid assuming this is the case with you a full history and physical along with labs and a holter would be reccomended.Labs could include thyroid levels, electrlytes, and even hormone levels.

Can be normal: Hormonal changes can cause normal variations in heart rate. However, other age-realted heart rhythm abnomalities such as atrial flutter/fibrillation should be considered as well. Discuss with your doctor about wearing an ambulatory heart monitor if there is concern about abnormal heartbeats.
