Not common: Congenital lactose intolerance is really not very common. Many people think their babies are lactose intolerant when in fact they are not. Babies who have true formula problems really have milk protein allergy. Those babies present with eczema and bloody stool and need hypoallergenic formula. Soy or lactofree do not usually help in these cases . Before changing formula, talk to your pediatria.
