Would a hepatitic function panel always show if a patient had hepatitis c? could it show up later?

No and Yes: The measurable level of hepatic "function" tests often has little association with hep c infection which can remain silent for years. It can be detected at a later date.

No: This is a very tough area for dr's.There is a lot of hep "c" we are missing and I do look for this silent and dangerous disease when i see abnormal liver function tests.I'll bet other dr's weigh in on this.
