A member asked:

Is 4 years too long to take daily tetracycline and should it be stopped gradually?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No and probably No: For certain conditions, certain people might be on tetracycline type antibiotics for a long time and 4 years is not necessarily too long. Tetracycline would not usually be associated with any withdrawal type symptoms. Some people might be tapered off to ascertain if the lower dose still controls their condition vs stopping all at once. A personal physician/best person to make such decision.
