High: Tsh stands for thyroid stimulating hormone and it comes from your brain. It tells your thyroid gland in your neck to put out throid hormone. Upper limit of normal range is 5 and 14 is high and would indicate your thyroid gland is underactive. Your TSH is high because it is trying to push the thyroid gland to make more hormone.
