A member asked:

What are bilateral ovarian cysts? i had ct scan and dr said i have these but no cause for concern. can this affect my ability to conceive?

Potentially: It depends on why you have them. If you have pco, it can reduce your fertility. If you have normal cycles and the cysts go away on their own, then there should be no effect on fertility. Good luck!

It depends: More than likely you have polycystic ovaries which can be common, but may cause problems over time. You might have a higher rate of infertility, irregular cycles and other symptoms related to this finding. If the cysts enlarge that can cause other issues that your gynecologist needs to follow. Get ultrasounds instead of ct scans in the future to follow these cysts decreasing radiation exposure.
