NO: Many pain medications are narcotic based, such as morphine. Many are not and may be anti inflammatory drug like Aspirin or motrin. Some work on nerve conduction such as gabepentin. Others work on pain at the receptor for narcotics but can also block narcotics. Pain has many causes and there are many drugs for different kinds of pain.
