Can be serious: Individuals who are at high risk to develop severe chicken pox are: anyone on immunosuppressives, e.g., transplant recipients; pregnant women; newborns under 5 days old. They often develop severe complication such as respiratory failure associated with varicella pneumonia.

NotVeryDangerousBut: Chicken Pox is not very dangerous disease.In healthy individuals it is a self limiting mild disease But if contacted during pregnancy it can cause Birth defects And rarely can cause encephalopaty and resulting brain damage and even death In immune compromised patientsit can spread to other organs and death And i in 4000 children develop Post Infectious Cerebellar Ataxia
