Can be helpful: Yes , oil of clove is one of the ingredients in some compounds or medications we use in dentistry to alleviate pain associated with a tooth infection. You can place a small cotton pellet soaked in oil of clove and should alleviate the pain. However, jnot always it works so seek immediate advise form your dentist.

Oil of clove: Oil of clove acts as a sedative to the nerve of the tooth. Many sedative materials that dentist use to sedate a tooth, cements, temporay fillings, material in between root canals have oil of clove or eugenol. A clove will not work.

Options -See Dentist: Oil of clove may help... Temporarily use something like tylenol (acetaminophen). Any anti-inflammatory medication can help. Aleve, motrin, advil and even a holistic alternative arnica. Ice to minimize swelling can also be helpful. That is only managing the pain... I agree with the other doctors. Please see a dentist to help you resolve the issue which is causing you pain. Make an appointment asap please.

Oil of Clove: Oil of clove placed on a small piece of cotton and inserted in a deep cavity has been known to temporarily alleviate tooth sensitivity IF the nerve is alive. Severe tooth pain can indicate a dead nerve and abscess... if so, you need to be seen immediately. Don't allow your pain to become unbearable.
