Location & size: Depending on the size and location of the keloid there are different options. Assuming the keloid is already of substantial size, it will have to be excised surgically. Continued care after surgical excision is paramount. This may involve steroid injection, topical treatments, or possibly radiation. The keloid has a very high risk of recurrence if the long term follow up is not addressed.
