APL subtype of AML.: These two are related as apl is a subtype of aml. Treeatment can induce initial remission with cytarabine, and daunorubacin or idarubacin with other therapy in up to 80% of patients, and 5 year survival is seen in 10-30 % of patients. The addition of trans-retinoic acid (tretinoin) causes differentiation of leukemic cells in apl and may improve outcome so apl likely has better prognosis.

Well: Apl or acute promyelocytic leukemia or m3 is a type of aml. This type typically responds rapidly but this type is a medical emergency. Types of AML like m0, m1, m6 and m7 typically have a poor prognosis. The prognosis of m3 also depends on how high the white blood count is and how low the platelets are. Hope this is what you were looking for.
