How does my crohn's affect my odds of pregnancy?

PROBABLY NO EFFECT: Generally speaking, if a crohn's patient is healthy, the chances of pregnancy are about equal to the normal population. Once pregnant, the incidence of spontaneous abortion is also about equal to the normal population providing the patient takes her medicine and stays in remission. Almost all of the medications for crohn's disease are safe during pregnancy. Consult a knowledgeable physician.

Depends on control: If you are wanting to get pregnant, make sure you are doing your best to optimally manage the crohn's through medication and decreasing stress level. Though stress is not the cause, it can definitely make it worse. Do everything you can to help your body heal.
