Brachymetarsia: Typically a short toe that is on both feet is due to a shorter metatarsal that will leave the toe in a shorter position. If the look of this bothers you, see your podiatrist.

Brachymetatarsia: Is something you may have. This is when the metatarsal bone is shorter then the other and as a result the toe which is actually a normal size but gives off a short appearance as the bone before it is too short. It is not dangerous at all and if bothersome can be legthened if so desired.
