A 29-year-old member asked:
how effective is naproxen?
1 doctor answer • 4 doctors weighed in

Dr. David Greenfield answered
Rheumatology 41 years experience
As good as any: There are at least a dozen antiinflammatory meds on the market. Naproxen is effective but not for everyone. The reason there are so many medications is because not one is uniquely superior to the others. One person will "swear" by Naproxen while another says it "does nothing for me".

What is the difference between anaprox, (naproxen) naproxin?

Dr. Gregory Blair answered

They are the same.: All medications carry two different names, there is the generic name which is the name of the actual drug (naproxen in this case) and the trade name from the company who sells it (anaprox in this case). Naproxen is sold under several other trade names but they are all essentially the same medication. Many times if you can find generic Naproxen at wal-mart you can save a dollar or two!

Aleve (naproxen) side effects and how I can help them?

Dr. Martin Raff answered
Infectious Disease 56 years experience
Stop taking: Naproxyn, like other similar compounds may produce abdominal pain and upper GI bleeding, and can predispose to cardiovascular events which can be life-threatening. Can also interfere with some anti-depressants. Ingestion of alcohol may worsen the GI side-effects.
