I 've been dealing with a migraine for the past week. imitrex (sumatriptan) has not helped. i was also diagnosed with an ulcer 2 weeks ago. can i take excedrin?

Excedrin/peptic ulce: No with an ulcer in stomach you should not take Aspirin containing pills as it can cause bleeding ulcer needs to be treated with antibiotics and acid supression, for migraine headace not relieved by Imitrex (sumatriptan) can be not using proper dose and not repeating as suggested, you can rpt the dose once after 2 hours not to exceed 200 mgm in 24 hours, it is also available as nasal spray, and self inject.

No excedrin: If you have an ulcer you should not take asperin or nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs. Excedrin for migraines is an effective otc med for migraines but has both asperin and caffeine, which should be avoided if you have an ulcer.
