Why do my zits keep "weeping" pus?

Full of bacteria: Skin pores and follicles have bacteria in them, and therefore so do pimples or acne cysts. Squeezing them can damage the surrounding skin (depends on how much damage, and how many bacteria, etc.) so infection can actually be common. If the infection is itself damaging enough (even without picking), pus can drain, and a scar can result. Don't pick. See your dermatologist!
